Employee Engagement
At Edinburgh Airport, we want to give colleagues the opportunity to engage with other people and teams within our business, and beyond. We do this through our Champion groups and EDI Communities, allowing colleagues to share their interests and learn more about the business.
Champion Groups
We have a range of Champion groups at Edinburgh Airport, helping to engage and inform people about a variety of topics.
Charity Champions: Our Charity Champions are key in creating lasting value for our charity partners, and are involved in the selection process for our Charity Partnership. Our Charity Champions work as a group to brainstorm, promote and deliver fundraising opportunities such as fun runs, sky diving, football games and sponsored cycles. Our Charity Champions come from a range of departments, including Security, Digital, Commercial and Sustainability.
Diversity Champions: Our Diversity Champions help us to represent our people as best as we can, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included in our business. Our Diversity Champions helped to shape and delivery Edinburgh Airport’s first DEI strategy, hosting launch sessions and sharing their lived experience across the business. Within our Diversity Champions group, we have further sub groups including an LGBT+ and Gender Equity group.
Values Champions: Our Values Champions ensure that everyone across our teams understand and demonstrate Edinburgh Airport’s 5 values. They work with teams to set commitments to our values, and are responsible for promoting and reviewing our staff recognition programmes – including our monthly ‘Shining Star’ awards, and our yearly ‘Celebrating Success Awards’. They also coordinate Values Month, which is a series of events hosted by teams across the airport to celebrate and showcase how they live our values in their day to day work.
Wellbeing Champions: Our Wellbeing Champions help to empower our colleagues to manage their health and wellbeing, and are ambassadors for our Wellbeing Strategy which was introduced in 2025. By organising webinars, events and site visits, our Wellbeing Champions underline our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our workforce. Our Wellbeing Champions come from a range of departments including People and Planning, Fire Service, Communications and Commercial.
Talent Engagement Group: Our Talent Engagement Group is formed of over 60 colleagues from across the business, who want to inspire the next generation to work at the airport and inform them of the amazing careers they can have here. They work in partnership with our People and Planning team, going out to schools, colleges, job fairs and universities to promote Edinburgh Airport as an employer of choice. We encourage people from all departments and levels to get involved and share their story. If you are interested in having Edinburgh Airport attend an event or would like further information, please email talent_engagement@edinburghairport.com.
STEM Team: Our STEM Team involves a variety of volunteers from across the business, who dedicate their time to creating and delivering engaging STEM sessions for young people. Our STEM team include members of our Leadership team, colleagues from IT, Engineering and People and Planning, however we have a group of regular volunteers who are passionate about STEM and inspiring the next generation. You can find out more about our dedicated STEM centre and how to book a session here.
EDI Communities
EDI Communities was introduced in 2025, as a project from our Management Development Programme, designed by colleagues, for colleagues. It allows colleagues across the business to connect and come together through shared hobbies, interests and experiences.
Colleagues can join an existing Community, or create one, forming a social group or club based on what matters to you. This allows our colleagues to form connections, enhance their wellbeing at work and create a stronger sense of belonging at Edinburgh Airport.
Our current EDI Communities include a monthly book club, an LGBT+ staff community, a women’s network and football fives. If there is something you feel passionate about, chances are others do too – and we want to give employees the chance to find each other.
