Benefits
86% of our people say their work gives them a sense of pride (Edinburgh Airport People Survey, 2022). We want to make sure you are supported to perform your best, so we provide a range of benefits to support you at home and at work. You might be eligible for some extra perks in addition to the below, but we’ll tell you exactly what these are when we make you a job offer.
Please note these benefits apply to Edinburgh Airport Limited and Edinburgh Airport Services staff.
Depending on the role you have, your benefits may include:
Career development
At Edinburgh Airport, we’re big on developing our people, so we’ll give you the opportunity to access our in house Talent Management programmes at the right stage of your career, as well as relevant external training where required. You can read more this on our Training and Development page.
Bonus
We have a discretionary bonus scheme which rewards you when our business does well. How much you will get is based on your own personal performance and your rating at your annual appraisal meeting.
Pension
All staff will have the opportunity to join our pension scheme, with different contribution levels to suit you. Edinburgh Airport will contribute as well- this can be up to 7% depending on how much you choose to contribute.
Discounts
Love to shop? Love to save money? You can get discounts at many of our airport retailers and food outlets. You also have access to our online benefits portal, EAL Rewards, for discounts and savings at high street retailers, supermarkets, attractions, gyms, restaurants and much more.
Volunteering
At Edinburgh Airport, we recognise the impact we have on our surrounding communities and want to make sure our people have the opportunity to give back. That’s why we offer 2 paid days of volunteering leave per year, for teams or individuals to get out and about in the local community supporting causes they care about.
Parking
You can access dedicated car parks for staff as well as enjoying free parking when you go on holiday.
Flexible working
Depending on the role, we’ll empower you to find a working pattern that suits your needs whether that’s home/hybrid working or reduced hours. Steph from our IT Team tells us how this works for her:
“Job searching as a parent is a tricky process.
Often there is no easy way to get information on job flexibility, and how a new job might fit around existing caring responsibilities without risking being dropped out of the process.
My recruitment experience at Edinburgh Airport could not have been more different. From the very first conversation, there was an openness and transparency about work life balance that I had never experienced before.
The best part is that it wasn’t just a sales pitch. Being a parent has not been a blocker to being given opportunities to grow and develop myself and my career at Edinburgh Airport. Edinburgh Airport cares about its people and commits to doing the right thing by embracing their individuality”.
Health services
Access to an on-site Occupational Health team from day 1 as well as the option to join our private healthcare scheme with Vitality (after 12 months service). There are also regular podiatry and physio clinics on site and annual flu jab clinics. We encourage our staff to consider more sustainable ways of travelling, so we participate In the Cycle to Work scheme. This means you can apply for a tax free bike to travel to work. At the airport we also offer a corporate eye care scheme through Specsavers.
Financial and wellbeing support
We care about what we do, and we want to make sure our employees can access help when they need it most. Our Employee Assistance Provider (EAP), Carefirst, are on hand to offer confidential advice. You can also access financial support from Capital Credit Union as well as life insurance and income protection cover.
Our policies
You can find out about some of our policies on our WORK180 employer page including parental leave, flexible working and annual leave. If you would like to know more details about any particular policy, we can send you these when you’re invited to interview.
