About the role

The Sustainability Team is here to promote, improve, and deliver upon Edinburgh Airport’s ambitious sustainability strategy, known as Greater Good. Collaborating with teams throughout the airport, we work to meet and exceed our commitments across the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) spectrum.

Our team sits within the larger Communications department, but collaborates with teams across the airport – from security to finance, operations to HR. No two days are the same at the airport, and we are lucky to have the opportunity to work on interesting projects of all shapes and sizes.

About our Summer Internships
 
Our internship opportunities will run for a 12 week period over summer 2026, starting in June. These are paid at the Real Living Wage, and are full time (40 hours). These internships will give you exposure to a dynamic environment and a chance to make real impact with the work you do over summer. About the recruitment process

The recruitment process for this role will be comprised of two interviews. The first interview will be an informal Teams call, and the second stage will be an in person, competency based interview to learn more about your experience, and motivations in applying for this role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working to support the delivery of our community outreach programmes, such as reviewing funding applications and compiling a shortlist.
  • Helping us with our annual staff travel survey and engaging with our colleagues to improve responses.
  • Assisting the team in reviewing and updating our climate change adaptation plan.
  • Supporting our team with updating the airport’s climate change adaptation plan.
  • Engaging businesses on site (our Campus Partners) in sustainability.
  • Being part of our team’s delivery programme and helping us out when things pop up!
  • Helping us benchmark our activities against other airports to learn about our progress.

What we’re looking for 

To apply for this role, you’ll need to be a student currently enrolled in College or University, studying a relevant degree

  • A confident and motivated individual, who can work with different departments and colleagues throughout the airport
  • Enthusiastic with a good work ethic
  • An interest in all things sustainability from climate to community
  • A strong communicator and happy working on projects independently (though we will be there to support you!)
