IT Intern
IT
- Vacancy type: Internship
- Closing date: 30/03/2026
- Salary: £13.45/hour, 40 hours, 12 week internship
About the role
Are you passionate about technology and keen to kick-start your career in IT? Are you studying subjects like computer science or computer systems at college or university? Are you interested in IT infrastructure, server builds or networking? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply knowledge gained on your course to the real world?
Edinburgh Airport’s IT delivery team is at the heart of innovation, working within the IT department as part of the wider technical assets function. As an intern, you’ll have the chance to experience how we help to drive forward IT change that keeps our airport running smoothly and efficiently.
Our projects are truly diverse. One day you might be involved in rolling out new retail technology with third-party partners. The next, you could be supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure upgrades that shape the future of airport operations. No two days are ever the same!
The success of change is found in the alignment between good governance and the availability of experts to support the change. You will have a chance to learn from the people who design and build solutions, not just for the airport itself, but for the entire campus. This is your chance to collaborate, problem-solve, and learn from the best in the business.
You’ll experience all aspects of change implementation. You will help to scope out requirements, and support delivery activities. You will see the impact projects have first hand. You’ll have access to a wide range of experts, who will bring to life why what you’re studying matters to businesses.
You will have the opportunity to shadow a range of experts – systems, network, servers, and more. You will benefit from coaching and mentoring during the course of your 12 week internship.
If you’re eager to gain practical experience and develop skills that will set you apart in the IT industry, this is the internship for you.
