About the role
 
 The role holder will play a key role in the Communications team at Edinburgh Airport, developing and managing campaigns and implementing the airport marketing plan. The person will also work closely with the Commercial team supporting them through the delivery of tactical marketing campaigns and business development supporting activity. The person will also play an active role in supporting the Head of Marketing and Head of Corporate Affairs to plan and manage key marketing communications across airport channels to help promote the Airport’s retail proposition.
 

About the Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for this role will be comprised of two stages. The 1st interview will be held over Teams, to discuss your experience and motivations in applying for the role with our Head of Marketing and Retail & Property Marketing Manager. The 2nd interview will be an in person, competency based interview, and we will ask you to prepare a short presentation, followed by questions. What you’ll be doing

  • Management and delivery of the retail marketing calendar and assisting on key projects and retail launches
  • Work with the Retail Operations team to create and implement tactical plans to support retail performance and to meet budgets, from briefing process to instalment
  • Supporting the Property team in the development of strong product propositions
  • Liaising with various marketing and print agencies in the development of the above and ensuring cost effectiveness and efficiencies are achieved
  • Working with the Head of Marketing in the ongoing development of the annual marketing plan
  • Supporting the wider Communications team with the creation of commercial content for airport channels (social media, email, digital sites, staff communications)
  • Working with an external design agency to develop and adapt key marketing campaign themes and messages.
  • Drive pre-awareness of the airport offering and introduce ways to succeed in driving passenger conversion on terminal
  • Develop creative and bespoke ways to drive sales increase and push services offered
  • Work in collaboration with Commercial teams (Property, Digital, Commercial Services) to evolve commercial product and service offerings that can be marketed to internal and external customers

What we’re looking for

To apply for this role, you’ll need

  • Experience of managing projects from conception through to execution
  • A business or marketing degree, or equivalent, is desired, or appropriate work experience with an interest in consumer behaviour and commercial results
  • Forward thinking and pro-active with ability to integrate themselves in to a small team but also adapt themselves to engage with multiple parties internally and externally to the organisation
  • Energetic, ambitious and inquisitive; continually seeking how to improve EAL’s creativeness, effectiveness or efficiency.
  • Flexibility and resilience – the pace of the business means a proactive, can do attitude is essential in order to deliver effectively on time and on message.
