About the role

The Security team is part of the Operations division and are responsible for ensuring the compliant processing of our passengers, staff and business partners in line with DfT regulations. Our Security team are dedicated and highly trained. Our team of Officers support thousands of people coming through the airport every day. The team are responsible for keeping all our passengers and staff safe in the terminal and for their onward journeys.

We operate in an environment of Continuous Improvement with customer service and operational performance at the forefront of our decision making. Our Security Data Intern will work with a variety of teams across the Airport, analysing data and improve data reporting and delivery.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Working with the Security Change team to deliver improvements in data reporting and automation
  • Creation of dashboards or automated reports to simplify reporting and data sharing for improving team performance across a range of metrics
  • Review and develop existing datasets and reporting functions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting change team with data analysis on various change projects to drive Continuous Improvement
What we’re looking for
This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years

A student who is currently enrolled in College or University, studying a degree in data science and data analytics.

  • A problem solver who can create data led solutions to a variety of problems.
  • You will be required to engage with a variety of teams across the business including IT and business analytics. We require a team player who can work well with others who demonstrates excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • We are also looking for a self-motivated individual with a “can do“ outlook.
  • Strong experience with Excel

    The following items would be nice to have but are not essential for the role:

  • Tableau – understanding of this software is desired
  • I-Auditor – understanding of this software is desired
  • An interest in aviation is helpful but not essential
