Young People

At Edinburgh Airport, we recognise that young people are our future workforce. That’s why we’re developing exciting ways for young people to immerse themselves in the airport through work tasters, insight sessions, apprenticeships and internships. We work in close partnership with Developing the Young Workforce, local schools and colleges to develop options that suit the needs of students in our local community.

We regularly update this page with the latest opportunities for young people.

Engineering Tomorrow

What is Engineering Tomorrow?

This is our fun programme of experiments designed to encourage young people to study STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) subjects at school and to consider this as a potential career path. Our experiments include bridge building, 3D printing and robotic coding. It encourages young people to work as a team and use problem solving skills.

Who’s it for? This offer is currently targeted at S1 and S2 pupils but we are happy to adapt this depending on age and stage.

How long is a session? These sessions are flexible but we recommend a 2 hour session.

Where does it take place? We can deliver Engineering Tomorrow virtually and in person at our Fire Training Centre.

Virtual Sessions

We recently hosted online sessions for young people to learn more about some of our core teams at the airport and their career journeys to get there.
