WFS – Ramp Agent/Baggage Handler

Job Objective:

Actions of transport, loading, stowage of baggage and cargo and assistance to the aircraft, its passengers and crews in the ramp area, using properly the tools given and taking into account the procedures established for the different activities and following the security and safety measures established by the company, with the objective that each flight departs on time, without any safety risk for plane, its crew, passengers, baggage and cargo, the airport workers, the equipment and facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Loading, offloading, reception, transport, delivery, sorting, control, stowing, lashing and storing of baggage, cargo and mail, as well as the Unit Loading Devices (ULD)
  • Driving and/or use of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to perform the baggage and ramp activities: baggage tractors, loading belts, hi-loaders, pallet movers, baggage carts, ULD dollies and pallets.
  • Aircraft assistance: Chocking, Conning, Extinguishers, PIGS and GSE handling on arrival and departure.
  • Driving and use of the GSE to perform the aircraft assistance activities: Push-back, Ground Power Unit, FEGP/400Hz, Air Start Unit, Air Conditioning Unit,
  • Passenger, PMR and Crew assistance: Transport, help, and escort them thorough the airport process. Passenger guidance for “walk-in / Walk-out”
  • Driving and use of the GSE to perform the passenger assistance activities: Stairs, Air bridges, Stairs, busses, crew vans, ambulifts and other specific devices
  • Aircraft Cleaning: cabin cleaning, waste removal, potable water and toilet services
  • Driving and use of the GSE to perform the aircraft cleaning activities: Toilet Service Units, Water Service Units and De-Icing
  • Aircraft Safety: Damage and FOD checks on arrival and departure.
  • Airport Security: Aircraft, baggage and cargo surveillance and other activities

  • Fuelling, light maintenance and cleaning of the GSE and any other vehicles.
  • Completion and signature of any form or report associated to the activity.
  • Report any incidence related to the Safety involving passengers, crew, staff, aircraft, baggage, cargo, facilities and equipment, Quality of the service, airport Security, Health & Safety and Environment.
  • Propose any action to improve the activity performance
  • Ensure the segregation and recycling of all materials used and residues.
  • Perform all the tasks described according the company requirements, training received and airport regulations.
