Customer Service Representative
Salary – £8.65 per hour plus uncapped commission
Zero-hour contract to include weekdays and weekends

The role: Taking the wheel at Hertz

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional service for our customers. Working within a small team you will oversee the day-to-day running of the branch, fleet management and distribution, pricing and revenue incentives.

Your skills: What you’ll need for a great journey

  • A valid UK or EU driving licence
  • Previous experience in a customer service, sales or retail environment
  • Good English skills, enabling you to be a brilliant communicator
  • An understanding of the importance of great team spirit and supporting your colleagues
  • An enthusiastic, flexible and positive attitude towards selling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and make decisions efficiently

  • You are willing to work on a shift rota basis, 7 days per week and be flexible.

You’ll earn commission on top of your salary, which means you’ll dictate your own earning potential each month.  You will have an uncapped earning potential so you’ll be in charge of your own pay cheque.

Customer Service / Instant Returns Agent
Salary – £8.21 per hour
Please note that this role a casual key time worker position, candidate expected to work a 40 hour week across 7 days.

A vacancy has arisen for a Customer Service / Instant Returns Agent reporting to the Branch Supervisor at Ediburgh airport.

What is this role all about?

This is suited to someone who thrives in a very busy environment. Your main responsibilities involving meeting and greeting customers when returning their rental vehicles to the Airport. You will inspect vehicles for damage and provide the customer with an invoice at the end of the rental and a full explanation of their charges.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To greet all Hertz customers with a welcoming and professional attitude.
  • Ensure all customers receive the WOW experience by offering an outstanding customer experience.
  • Inspect all returning vehicles for damage and complete the relevant vehicle condition appraisals.
  • Ensure all sale and turnback vehicles are identified and blocked.
  • Issue every customer with an invoice and a full explanation of their charges when necessary.
  • To carry out any other duties requested by the Managers/Team Leaders such as Fuel Reconciliation, VPI scan, NVS Audits, Action e-mails from
  • Customer Relations and other branches involving VPI/ARF/general information.
  • Receiving and making telephone calls to both Hertz customers and colleagues at other locations.
  • Liaising with the branch at the Airport Terminal and ensuring the smooth movement and availability of rentable fleet with production line efficiency.

Fleet Coordinator
Salary – £20,000 per annum  
Position Type – Regular, Full Time

General Responsibilities

The Fleet Co-Ordinator is reporting to the Fleet and Facility Manager. The main responsibility is to plan the fleet efficiently and according to Hertz standards. To manage the daily operations with regards to in-fleet, defleet and maintenance. Ensure the maximum utilisation of fleet mix at all times contributing to branch revenue with key focus on Upselling & walk up availability.


  • To conduct a detailed fleet planner every day for overall numbers to specific car groups and ensure there are sufficient and correct vehicles to cover reservations at all times.
  • To manage and organize specific cars for Prestige / Platinum and VIP bookings
  • To identify any fleet issues and resolve with the Logistics department as necessary.
  • To ensure agreed car groups are available in the rental system and supply rental representatives with cars as required

Customer Service

  • To maximise customer satisfaction within your control and communicate with all staff to ensure consistency.
  • Ensure car park and vehicle conditions standards are met at all times.

Health & Safety

  • Supervise and assist the operations of car transporters whilst they are on site and any external drivers
  • Report any potential issues within all external areas, especially fuel/debowsing area, valet, car wash, maintenance, staff car park, barriers and blockers, that may relate to Health and safety. If necessary take action to resolve.


  • Ensure all Assured cleaning staff are adhering to company guidelines when preparing vehicles and carry out quality audits daily in liaison with Assured Management.
  • Check and action daily opportunities to rent Franchise cars to owning locations.
  • Ensure sufficient supply of clean baby and booster seats as required
  • Ensure all Hertz Policies and procedures, are adhered to in relation to vehicle movements.
  • To collate vehicles for transporter movements, in and out


  • Ensure punctuality of staff and correct grooming at all times.

Cost Controls

  • Ensure branch and shift achieve BP Utilisation
  • Manage the ordering of replacement parts – windscreens, tyres etc
  • Management of blocked cars from ready bays
  • Ensure all cars are de fleeted and debowsed before leaving branch.


  • Ensure daily non-revenue reports are actioned to maximise revenue
  • Ensure fleet availability supply to meet walk up demand/upselling requirements
  • Ensure SRPoD is achieved at shift and branch level


  • Assist in the delivery and collection of vehicles at your manager’s request
  • Ensure any lost property items found in vehicles are handed over via the relevant process
  • In icy weather and conditions, ensure grit and salt is laid down to prevent any hazardous working conditions.
