Alpha LSG – General Manager

Alpha LSG is the leading provider of inflight services to the world’s airline customers. We offer a comprehensive range of Inflight Catering, Onboard Retail and Logistics services across all of the UK’s major and regional airports.
We are looking for a General Manager to join our Operations team where you will ensure the production, despatch, delivery and service is managed effectively within the North. Sites you will be expected to cover are the Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle so travel across these is essential. The role itself can be based at either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Within the role you will manage our Flight Kitchen unit operations, which is the preparation, cooking and plating of meals, ensuring that production of our customers airline meal range is to their specification. Making sure that all aspects of quality, service, cost and safety are maintained to the highest level, employee engagement and efficient conversion of food ingredients into final product are key elements of the role.
You will also be required to liaise with the Operations Director in the development of forecasts and budget targets, reviewing period service reports and performance managing your direct team through our performance appraisal system.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of production or manufacturing operational management, within a food services environment. With significant experience of people management and employee engagement, you will be able to manage budgets and forecasts. An excellent communicator who has strong data management skills, you will have an understanding of the aviation regulation authority and will ideally have an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate.
This role needs someone who can hit the ground running, and who is able to work independently. A decision maker who can lead and motivate your team, you will have previous experience within the North.
