Early Bag Store Team Leader

Working for EASL you will be accountable for organisation and preparing of bags in the Early bag Store and to oversee the daily performance for your team.
If you are successful in applying for this position, the recruitment process will be a one stage, in person interview with our Baggage Support Services Manager and a member of our HR Team. You will be asked competency based questions about your experience, and will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the role.

- Keeping an eye open for suspicious-looking baggage items at all times and reporting anything immediately.
- Training of any new staff on the EBS processes & equipment
- Correctly loading and storing luggage until the MUPs are ready
- Sorting loads according to their onward destination.
- Loading baggage from cages onto conveyor
- Scanning baggage before dispatching to carousels
- Ensuring all stored bags are injected back into the baggage system for delivery on time (no attributable SSB)
- Recording and dealing with damaged or incorrectly received baggage
- Using specialist equipment such as conveyors, bar code recognition
- Informing baggage controllers about damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Working colabortively and communicate effectively with other baggage services
- Working safely under time pressures
- Ensuring staff maintain a clean and tidy working environment
- Manage staff breaks
- Communicate to baggage controllers any concerns on shortfall of staffing
To apply for this role, you’ll need to be aged 18 years or over due to shift requirements[SG1] .
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of working in an airport
- Experience of manual lifting in previous roles
- Well organised and able to manage fluctuating workload
- Be physically fit to deal with heavy lifting for full shifts
- Be reliable and honest.
- Candidate must be medically fit – Required to pass an airside medical assessment
- Current Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience of working with the baggage operation previousl
